Meet Our Practioners

Lara DeChicio

MSW, LCSW, SEP

In the journey of life, we can all experience challenges which shake our foundations. At times the pressures of life can just feel overwhelming. Maybe you are feeling lost, confused, or even scared.

I hear you. Taking the first step and reaching out for support can be incredibly hard AND you are so worth it!!!

Finding your inner-strength and true self is a journey…but what an amazing adventure it can be!  Are you ready to get started?

Before we begin, let me tell you a little about myself. One might say that my nature is instinctively gentle, observant, and a little curious. These traits ultimately led me to finding my passion as a trauma and anxiety specialist. In addition to passion, I also hold a BA in Psychology from North Carolina State University (Go Wolfpack!) and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!). I am clinically licensed in the state of North Carolina and am a certified trauma therapist through Somatic Experiencing® International,

I am here when you are ready. Are you ready to start your journey?

Lizzie Elder

MSW, LCSW

I feel strongly that compassion, unconditional positive regard, and a strength-based perspective as a clinician are vital tools that are necessary in the process of restoration and healing. Your perspective, needs, values, and goals will be the foundation for your therapy sessions. With this, combined with a knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and best practices, we will determine together a process that feel safe and comfortable for you. My specialty is utilizing somatic, sensory, interpersonal, and expressive therapies for women.

I work in an integrated approach utilizing resiliency based interventions that help one thrive. I received a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina School of Social Work (Go Tar Heels). I have over 15 plus years of experience working with women & children in the field of emotional wellness. You will have the option to participate in the most current therapy, where you define what is safe & comfortable for you. I believe in the resiliency of the human spirit; this coupled with unconditional compassion and reflection of your personal strength (one you may uncover or rediscover in sessions) is the source of motivation as a clinician. Personally, I continue to do my own work in therapy regularly and seek out professional development to continue the process of growth professionally and personally.

For fun, I love to engage nature, read, dance to Aretha Franklin, painting, and playing with my golden retriever.
